Combat viewer performance

The combat viewer for me is very slow and choppy. The action just sort of freezes for a minute and the defeat/victory screen appears. Which is strange because my comp can run Rome total war.

Intel 1.7GHz P4
512mb ram
128mb GEforce FX5200
Direct X 9c
with 1GB page file avaible

Not strange. To avoid choppiness, 1gig ram and 2gig pagefile is needed.

Plus, depending on the Video Options and the number and types of ships being rendered, 128MB of video memory may not be enough. And the Geforce FX5200 is not a very fast card, nor does it support DX9.0c - only 9.0b.

You may want to try checking the "Simple Explosions" option in the Options menu.  That will limit the number of explosions, which may help the smoothness of the animation.
