Are 700% Tiles more common with 1.3?

I hadn't actually played GalCiv much for quite awhile but when I saw 1.3 was up I downloaded it and started a new game. And so far I have 3 planets with 700% tiles, including two with 700% research tiles which I have never actually had before. So are they more common now or was this just a fluke?

Just good luck. If bonus tile frequency was adjusted it would have been in the changelogs.

I don't think that theres any change.

700% tiles are great fun - especially on large worlds.

Is it possible to get really lucky and have multiple 700% tiles on the one planet? Now that would be fun

It depends on what version you upgraded from. There was a bug in early versions that prevented the 700% research bonus from ever showing up, though I can't remember which patch it was that fixed that (1.2 sounds right).

Just watch those 700% bonus tiles carefully, it's a great way to destroy your economy if you don't keep the spending under control.

yes it is possible i have had games where the korx have started off with a research and a manufacturing 700 bonus tile

Hell my economy was always great when I had 700% bonus tiles and was in the beginning.
