A hidden weapon?

This core ship carries more waepons as is should have.
I'm not sure if this was in previous versions because I normally don't use the core ships.
I use v1.3 Beta 3x






Where did that stinger come from?

Core ships can inactive parts on them.

I believe the transport and colony ship have 2x carrying compoenents but in reality only carry 1x the ammount.

You can also see like sensors and a whole lot of other stuff on them that dont work.

You shouldnt be using core ships anyway. They stink. Always better to maek your own. I even make my own colony ship since i put 1 more engine on it if i do it my self. (2 if i am yor )

Sjemmeke, you nead to upload your images to a host such as imageshack.us. Nobody other than you can see them if you try linking them right off your computer.

Yes, it's just a piece for show. Many of the core ships have non-functional parts like that. You'll notice that despite having that part, the ship has no missile attack power.

How can you get such a "showpiece" on a ship. Does the AI react on this? It looks like a gun, so it is a gun. Or are just the numbers important

If you want to go muck about in the ship definitions you can do it yourself, or by modding to add non-functional parts as jewelry. The core ships often take advantage of the fact that a ship design is composed of two files, one which defines how it looks, and one which defines what functional parts are actually on it. These extra pieces have absolutely no effect on anything in the game though, all that matters are the 'real' ones.
