Once again I find myself at an impass if you would call it that,,,, this darned game still gives me problems. Drivers are updated, I updated everything I could, twice!! Raised what I think is my virtual memory (btw, how many meg's in a gig?) and now I am keeping my fingers crossed. My crashed now seem to occur when I go to save a game. The program will just shut down as soon as I click on save. I don't use quick save, so I don't know if this matters. But when I start up the game again, the saved game is completely gone from my hard drive. Now, I save up to seven times or so,,, that way if I lose one, I have another couple of saves to pick from that at least are only a few turns off of where I was. I hate this!!!! Please guys, when you put a product out for sale, for real cash, please make sure it works across all platforms intended. My computer is almost brand new so I should have never had any issues. This is the ONLY game I own that has ever had so many problems. The only reason it hasn't been deleted and the cd used as a coaster is because I love the concept. So cmon guys, at least have the expansion pack fix the bugs,,, pleeeeeez.
As a final word however, the box that the product comes in displays minimum system requirements and recommended requirements. My system is well above both thank you. So if I continue to keep having these problems, do I get a refund? How about a game that works and you can keep my money. Kinda like you paying me to fix your car and then I don't really fix it. Would you be happy? How about I give you the tools and tell you to fix it while I still keep your money. Or maybe tell you to buy your own tools so that you can try to fix it,,, because you can't use mine. Well if you don't like this treatment, now you know how I feel. If you can't fix the game, refund the money, or do anything else, do you make a game that actually works? If so, I am willing to try it in replacement of my GC2 game. Come on Stardock, what's fair is fair. How can you take money for something that ultimately, really doesn't work and when it does it is definitely not consistent. And for all of those who say they never have a problem, maybe they have a version of the game that isn't grossly defective. So what gives, and what are you going to do to make me a happy customer? Do you remember what those where?
I forgot to mention, and maybe someone can answer this, my computer has a NVIDIA Geforce 6150le, I believe, integrated video with 256mb shared memory. Is this my problem? I was told that I have a pretty reliable and decent graphics setup so I really don't know for sure. I shouldn't have to turn into a programmer or technician just to play this game!!!!! I've dabbled in places on my machine that I have never had to touch all because of GC2. And in case you missed it in my other post, how many megabits make a gigabit?
