Ethics in Batlle of the gods

Playing a battle of the gods scenario and i want to choose my ethical allignment, one of the AI's has chosen its, but i cant choose mine, the manual says that you choose it when you research xeno ethics but its battle of the gods i started with all techs!!!

Help please.

I think you get shafted here. I suggest simply not playing that scenario.

You can half-fake it by playing with Very Fast research and giving away all the techs once you get the whole tree, but it's not really the same. (It's nice to not be Humies, though.)

My suggestion...open the Battle of the Gods scenario located under data/english/scenarios and remove xeno ethics from all civ's. That way you can research that one tech normally and get the benefit of choosing your alignment when you do.
Incidentally, you can also change which race you play this way, you aren't "stuck" with humans.
