your strategy, how to get most points in 5 - 1 years

what is your best strategy? how can you get alot of points in 1 to 5 years? are you research the weapons tech tree and then the improvements and diplomatic techs or the opposite? my strategy is the opposite, so am I worng? what do I need to do to win a suicidal game in militery victory? and how can you finish game in 1 to 5 years with a score of 5 letters?

Most important thing to know is what map size...

If you want help on medium maps I can try and give advice but I know that each map size plays very differently and therefore the priorities change. The guys scoring 200K a shot are all on gigantic. I'm more 20-30K on medium.

Any of this may be wrong. However this is what I believe is true.
From what I can gather the scoring is really crude...

It is based on
1. population (look at getting pop growth as a starter - also the more planets the better)
2. economy (fairly obvious - but it is money earned not money in the bank so spend,spend spend...)
3. military score... if you look at the charts you can see this is based largely on hps and weapon scores. Battles, ship kills etc are worth nothing. Soldiering is worth nothing.
4. tech spend (you can keep spending after the tech tree has finished. Get to research the research buildings early and build lots of them... fairly obvious.

Note that everything that affects these things in game also affects the score.
So those mining resources are essential... also spin control on your main ship producer is nice...

Evil is possibly the easiest to get a big score... cos while neutral has some good stuff in tech and PQ, evil has the economy building and the potential for military spend.

The other big wierdness is that it looks to be a total per turn in each area divided by the whole number of years rounded down... This means you must try to finish the game in a december, if you miss then you are better to eek it out til the following year.

To win as early as you want then I'd suggest going immediately towards planetary invasion and targeting the capitals of the other civs... on suicidal they will have almost completed the plant by the time you get there... (it is often worth putting something in soldiering just so you can take out any enemy planet with a single 500m ship).

Anyway... this may help. It is the way I play and whilst occassionally you just get swamped on Suicidal it is a more interesting way to play.

so you say that I need to research the weapons techs first, conquer the capital planet of the enemy civ, and have a lot of planets? and how can I colonize plants in the fastest way before other major civs colonize them?

The mind control center gives a 100% bonus to economy instead of helping to flip planets.

You don't need weapon techs early on just planetary invasion. During "planet grab" the AI rarely if ever defends planets and you can turn out transports while others are turning colony ships out... That way you plan to get there second and take over a half or fully built planet. Again boosting your economy. Try to keep track of the order the AI colonizes and work through their planets in the same order... Get there too early and there is nothing to steal. Get there too late and the population will be too high and or they will have had time to defend the colony.

Also you can switch to v little research early on because nearly every planet you invade (several per turn when you get going) steals a tech, some techs jump many levels on a branch. (You don't get any points for this but you've only so many resources to go around so you can crank out ships and buildings on your own planets).

This whole thing is a bit cheesy but you are asking how to beat Suicidal... which needs a bit of luck and quite an extensive knowledge of how the game works.

@Potkto I think it is intentional.

It does mean as far as quick dashes to victory in 1-5 years evil has the low level weapons and the eco buildings to score good points by military victory...

Also as a points grabber Aphrodisiac is about the best wonder. In short games it is all about getting pop growth to the absolute max , you need to get your big pop planets to 100% (99 is not good enough) morale and keep them there for the entire game. Population (together with a few stock exchanges) scores effectively twice in econ and civilization categories.
