I hate trade myself... Never use it... Waste of time on precious techs i think ^^

rofl i trade because at some point it just becomes exponential. if you manage to get trade goods, and have a good position between a few races, you can make so much bloody cash with trade it's not even funny. In my massive game I'm playing now, i've lowered taxes by 20% because still made 700bc/turn in profits, and I spend about a fifth of my revenue on military. with the profits, i simply hurry construction when i can.

Trading with a couple races(the ones most compatible with you) can be quite useful. and then, once you took out those who oppose you, turn on them and crush them by barely stretching your hand over their territory

at that point citizens wouldn't care about u heightening taxes, if you play it smart, they'll love you, (i have 96% approval at a 45% tax rate) And choosing good, then just annihilating everyone also works to give you bonuses in the social and defense aspects.

I kinda act as a Judiciar, one who'll force good on the galaxy simply by wiping out all evil races, while converting neutral ones and forcing other good races to surrender to you.


It's surprisingly efficient

won't the minor races just trade the techs you just gave them to the other races though?

I usually do a tech victory myself but only to save time -- by the time i
can do a tech victory, i got the game won. I've only played gigantic maps and to finish off all the opponents would just take forever. Was sort of concerned that one of the computer players would go for a tech win but none of em did.
Even on my Suicidal game. I'm pretty sure 1 of the computr plasyers could have beat me to a tech victorty in my game at suicidal level too -- Think i remember reading the developers say the comp players are programmed to play to win -- programmed for oher things that just bring your demise i think.

Conquest is fun, but trade, diplomacy, and research are much more rewarding, in my opinion. Sure, wiping out a few civilizations takes skill, but it takes even more skill to be a friend than to be an enemy.

I only use trade to keep civs off my back, until I can destroy them.

Waiting for planets to flip. takes forever and drives me crazy.
I just invade them. Much more satisfying.

I Always use galactic domination! Other victories are to easy! Like being friendly with every race is easy! Just Build up your economic and give them money... thats all it takes

The Meese are a very peaceful race, until attacked.

Until then, it is build up the economy and do extensive research.

Once the gauntlet is thrown down however, the Meese will not stop until every enemy planet is wiped out. Then it is back to making money and discovering new things.

Alliance and tech victories are most common for me.

If it's not a domination victory, it's not a true victory.

I like Cultural the most because in my mind, it is the most realistic form of domination, and the most concrete.
