Upgrading ships?

i reallydon't want to upgrade them one by one...

Hey all, love the game, hella lot, i was just looking hrough my countless ships, and decided I wanted to upgrade all of my older models...but i can't seem to find a button or command that will allow me to upgrade them all at once? Am i SOL? or am i missing a button somewhere?

There is a button in the ship upgrade screen in the upper right, juts below the picture of the ship. That is all.

In the shipyard screen, if you select a design, then click the upgrade button, it removes all the weapons, defenses, & modules so you can add newer versions or different weapon types. Then, on the map you select a ship and go into it's info screen and click the upgrade button, and it gives you a list of all the different types of ships possible to upgrade it to.

a list of all the different types of ships possible to upgrade it to. providing that their not obsolute. double click on a ship, then in the right hand corner, there are boxes, select the upgrade box. . . .and thats she said.

When you click upgrade from the ship details window, there will be a checkbox that says "Upgrade all ships of this kind" or something similar.

What if I just want to upgrade my drive engines for all future models. But I want to leave the rest ship as is: How can I do this ? without having to remake the whole ship from scratch anyone know how we do this ?

there's a checkbox called "do not remove components when upgrading ships" (or something like that) in the options menu. if you check that you get to keep what ever you have in the current shp. you can then change what you want to change without redoing the entire ship. this option works in the shipyard only though
