Hello Stardock, Hello Community,
I've just bought the german "Limitierte Auflage" of the game and noticed something i'd like to mention.
First of all: There aren't many games where the serial number is as important as it is for GalCiv2. So why is the game sold without any closed (transparent) plastic wrapping, so that anybody could just open the game box unnoticed? I mean, if i would be a bad person

i would take out my mobile phone, open the box and take a photo of the backside of the handbook and would then be able to download and update the game without the need to buy it. Or i could even steal the handbook out of the box and nobody would even notice it. I've already spoken to the staff of the shop (it's the german retail market "Saturn") and they were as surprised about this as i was, but said that the game box reached them looking like this. I, for myself, had to think about it twice before i bought the game, because i just don't wanted to come home, try to patch and get the statement that my serial number is already in use. Luckily, this was not the case. So please, Stardock, if you don't want people to get upset because they buy games with already used serial numbers, then talk to the publisher and wrap the boxes. Thank you.
PS: There is a very bad translation faux-pas in the german version that needs to be fixed. It occurs when the AI kills one of the players ships or fleets. In the american version it would be "Defender 1212 defeated by Korx Fregate 1234" ( i think ), but in the german version its "Defender 1212 verteidigt von Korx Fregate 1234" and that means "Defender 1212 defended by Korx Fregate 1234" in english and this is nonsense

Should be "Defender 1212 zerstört von Korx Fregate 1234" (zerstört = destroyed) or something like this, i think, but not defended...
Anyway.. the english mistakes are for entertainment purposes,
greetings... lordwzb
