1.2 - no auto centering on next ship

I am using the new patch (not a beta) Maybe I am missing something in the options. But with the new patch, when you are done with one ship, it doesn't center on the next ship that can move. If you don't watch the number of moves left, you end up moving the next ship in the wrong direction.

There is a check box in the options menu, might be gameplay or interface that let's you change it back to the way it was.

I'm SOOOOOOO glad they changed that. I mean, seriously, I'd pay for this patch in BLOOD if they asked me to.

That said, I haven't been able to download it properly yet. So let me get this straight: The morons made it select the next ship when you run out of moves, even if it's not moving the camera? Now, granted, that'll be the difference between night and day as far as I'm concerned, but it's still a freaking stupid "feature." I don't want the game to tell me which ship I'm using, damn it, I WANT TO BE THE ONE WHO DECIDES. WHY IS THE AI CONTROLLING MY SHIPS WITHOUT MY ASKING IT TO?!?

(I'd still pay for the lack of camera focus in blood, though. I don't know what I'm offering for the ability to actually decide which of my ships I'm using at any given time, though--maybe a kidney?)

Edit: Actually, this isn't far from workable. Since the camera can be made to stay put, you can simply re-select the ship you were using and finish off whatever you were doing with it. I'd still like control of my own ship selection, though. It's not like we'd have trouble finding the next ship with moves if the game didn't select it. The Find button seems to work perfectly.

Please avoid using words like 'moron' when referencing Stardock employees.  Insulting the developers is not a good way to get them to want to work on the features that you want.

Alright, fair enough. I'm just a little miffed about the "Father knows best" design issues. I don't see why it should be so bad that I could use a certain ship until I'm done with it, and it starts to take quite a while to select a ship multiple times in a crowded Gigantic galaxy.

And, for the record, I tried to edit the above post into a more civil tone, but the board won't let me. Is that because I posted this first?

Either way, sorry... I should really be busy thanking them for at least giving me my camera back.

Edit: It'll let me fix the spelling and grammar in this post, though.

I will admit that there are times when you don't want the focus of the ship's last move to change to the
next ship. You might want to see what it has discovered on the last move (e.g., planet, ship, etc.).

However, even though the focus doesn't change, if you hit the cursor key you may move the next ship
in the wrong direction. I'll have to see if there is a way to change this in the options menu. I looked
for it but didn't see it.

It would be nice if auto select could be disabled as a togggle. But Carielf had said before that is a more difficult issue.

The removal of auto-focus was a highly requested feature, which Stardock reponded to. It makes a huge difference on large map sizes. After playing the beta since it came out , it is a great feature, and could be implemented without a tremendous amount of work.

With the auto-focus un selected you can always now override the selected ship by clicking on a ship in your field of view. Or hit the FIND button or hit TAB on the keyboard.

Or you can always toggle auto-focus back on and have it the way before "father knows best".

I just TAB through all ships. AUTOFOCUS used to make me very angry
