Ship textures?

Ship textures?

I can not seem to get ship textures at all. They appear as soon as I go onto the select race screen but then dissapear after i pick another race. Does anyone know what could cause this problem?

I know its not a bug but its really annoying, I did update my video drivers....Sigh, PC games suck.

Please post the contents of the debug.err file in C:\Program Files\StarDock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed it at).

Hey Galacerty,

A couple of things that should get you on the right track...

1.) Update to Service Pack 2...you'll get weird DirectX errors if youre not up-to-date on the OS end of things.

2. Update your video drivers...looks like they're from early 2004, this should fix alot of problems as well.

Let us know if youre still having problems after dealing with those two

Darnit, you're right. I just can't seem to find a way to update my SIS650 video drivers. I download a patch from their website and all i can get from it is some toolbar application. I'll try again.
But I was told downloading service pack 2 is not a good idea, that its not very good.

edit- I did update them eventually but the ship textures etc are still
non-existent. I will see what SP2 does.

Oh well, I updated everything and they still don't appear. And I can't get the game to work on my other computer as no recent driver updates for S3 prosavage exists damnit! I'll just wait until i get my laptop this summer
