ships given away not moving

I noticed it, once again, that from time to time, ships I give away to some other civ, dont move to their new owner, they stay in the same spot they were at, as I gave them away.

This occurs especialy for Torians and when an enemy is between our regions (Torians and mine).

The netresult: the reinforcements I give to the torians (or whatever other civ, it happens to all, but Torians the most and also not always) never reach the fields of battle, so being quite useless.

It is usually much faster to move the ships next to one of their planets and then give it to them. I have seen some serious lag time if they have to go to your planet to retrieve the ship. Sometimes I think they send the pilot on the slowest freighter they have.

I've had that happen too. Now a fly the ship to the planet I want it to be by then give it away. The AI then uses it.

I've had that problem with the Torians too. So I declared war on them and destroyed the ships I gave them, then conquered them. That'll learn 'em for not using gifts properly.
