Demo Continuation

Should be allowed once retail is purchased

Uh, I recently came to the end of my demo, and it said that i'd have to purchase the retail to play a full game.

Does this mean that all the turns and time I just spent are USELESS, and I can't continue them even after I get the full game?

And all my ship models are GONE?

calm down, you are just limited to 3 years per game, you can play a new game and your ship designs are saved for later use in the demo.

AFAIK, there is no limit to how many days you can use the demo, just a limit of how long of a game you can play in the demo. So you can keep playing again and again, you'll just reach the demo time limit after 3 years.

I think he means can he play his saved game in the real game.... I really don't know if you can save over, does anyone?

I don't know about that. besides the full game is WAY better than the demo, especially patched, plus the demo doesn't have all of the files that the full game would have, so I don't know if its compatible.

It'll be ALOT more fun to do shipbuilding in the full game anyway, plus theres alot of improvements to the shipbuilder. and you can even use Kryo's hull mod.

if you want to save the models, maybe you could take screenshots of them? just a thought.

It is compatible, just find the save files and ship files and transfer them to the respectable folders in the retail version. Simple.

Also, I noticed the game was 45$ dollars off of galciv2.com... But it's not 45$ if I were to, say, go to a store and buy it there.

well you're buying direct from Stardock themselves I guess. or maybe it costs more to download, I don't know why the pricing is like that.

Stardock is cautious about going lower than the "recommended selling prize" (or however that thing is called), they're not big enough to provoke the retailers yet.

I'd give the bucks directly to them anyway (I'm well under $1 per hour already

), but retail demand doesn't hurt them either.
