I can answer that because I also saw the comment.

we didn't lose the code or anything like that, its that StarDock had gotten so preoccupied with taking care of this pest that they couldn't do the AI stuff they wanted to. In short, they had to sacrifice time that would have been spent on working with the AI, but instead they were working on a solution to get rid of that pest-you-know-who.

i was the one actually who quoted brad originally since he had been talking with myself and smjjames on the SDC's IRC chat and he said that he had spent so much time trying to deal with the psycho problem that he lost the time he was going to use to improve the AI, so the AI would be mostly unchanged from v1.1 to version1.2 he lost the time he planned on tweaking and making it run better and smarter. thats what marc meant

As the others said, Frogboy said on chat that the AI development for 1.2 has been wasted thanks to him, so we won't get much new AI, irritatingly. I will make sure to quote that if anyone ever says what they did to Psycho was unfair (god knows why they would)

He also said on the post that since Psycho was using multiple ISP addresses, he was going to introduce per-country ISP banning, which is what the IT team had been doing all weekend. They would try and narrow it down to Sofia, but odds are that Bulgaria will never even see a Stardock site.

i'd say i post a fair amount. i'd be here a lot more if it weren't firewalled at work, or if i were a little less lazy and started using IDzap.

that said, i'm pretty glad i missed this guy (mostly). i think i remember him, but not really sure.

sucks to be one of the 7.4 milliion people in bulgaria. or more precisely, one of the 630 thousand with internet access. judging from that curve, i'd say psycho was the entire TBS game market in bulgaria. on this day, global capitalism suffered a setback

maybe an alternative would be to introduce some kind of a posting limit or approval mechanism for members w/o registered serial numbers. obviously what's done is done, and what happens in bulgaria stays in bulgaria. heh. but you can't think this is gonna be the last guy like this. at my job some crazy woman has been calling in for 3 years now! we couldn't give her a loan, and now she keeps calling in, wasting our time, pretending to be someone else to... i don't even know what for. some people just have nothing better to do.

Thanks guys.

That's too bad. As some of you are probably aware, I have a couple of posts begging for more aggressive AI and I haven't been playing the game for some time, waiting for the 1.2 patch to hopefully improve my HUGE galaxy gaming experience.

Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer. (sigh)

Guess I'll give 1.2 a shot on a LARGE galaxy. Apparently the AI really ramps up as you decrease the map size.

well the UI fixes in 1.2 will help the general gameplay experience.

personally I'm willing to wait for an AI fix because of this.
