I would purchase a multiplayer expansion pack if it allowed for playing larger galaxies - ie, being able to save a game and then load it back up with all the players. Here are some other features I would like:
~ More planetary defense options. These would include a self-defense improvement, such as a ground-to-air missle launcher or something of the sort that could thwart invasions, at least on a small scale. Another idea would be Shield Generators, which would project a force field around your planet that would that would have to be destroyed by a high-level ship.
~ More planetary invasion options. These would include being able to attack a planet from orbit with any sufficiently equipped ship, more invasion techniques (such as, for instance, being able to devastate the ecosystem with alien organisms after researching Advanced Farming, or to randomly blow up a 3 by 3 tile area after researching Photonic Torpedo, etc.), being able to control part of a planet or otherwise coordinate your forces to at least some extent, etc.
~ Expanded options with anomalies. These might include making anomalies move (like a comet orbiting a sun, or an asteroid randomly hurtling through space) or being able to move/manipulate them (knocking a meteroid into a planet
). More types of anomalies would also be appreciated, such as black holes. Finally, different effects upon encountering anomalies would be appreciated (ie going into a wormhole and getting sucked into another universe/out of the game, or exploring a meteroid and being eaten by giant space worms).
~ An improved espionage system - different slide options for 'Spying' (gain access to various statistics and steal technology at higher levels), 'Destabilization' (push down their approval rating, get an influence bonus against them, and at the highest levels rebellious cells within their civilization would commit acts of terror, like sabotaging ships and improvements, crashing ships in orbit, and assassinating political leaders)), and 'Counterintelligence' (counter all of these effects), and 'Government Infiltration' (very expensive and time consuming, though easier if the target's morale is low, but gives you partial control of their goverment at first, such as a few seats in their senate, and increasing control until you have most of their government in thumb and can counter their leader. This would obviously be very expensive and time consuming, and easy to discover and counter),
~ Finally, I would like to see more civilization options - new types of government, possibly as a result of choosing an ethical alignment, perhaps 'Habitable Starbases' that would function like mini-planets, new planetary improvements like Power Plants that would increase the efficiency of your existing improvements or clear the way for new ones, etc.
