Big Population Planet Morale

How much?

What is the required percentage of Morale that you need to keep a huge (>25B) population planet from dropping below 100%?

According to the equations that are known, it looks like it should be 400% (7 maxed-out morale buildings, or their equivalents). Is this accurate?

Why is that being a loser? That's good sense. If you wait too long to bump it, it doesn't appear in recent posts, which more or less dooms it to obscurity. I'm afraid I can't help, but bear in mind your tax level, and any sort of morale enhancing goods you have as well.

It all depends on how much moral bonus you have. With max elective moral bonus and political party moral bonus, you could probably get by with 4 VR centers and maybe only three if you build all the moral specials and grab a few mining resources.

With none of the above there's no telling it could take7-8 or more.

Well, if it's capped at 25mil, then you don't really need big approval, big approval only helps faster pop growth (which you don't need for worlds like this).
50+ is more then enough. Focus on smaller worlds that still grow to have 100%.

From looking at one game of 226billion across 32 worlds:

A good estimate of those planets is:
Morale = -0.0008*Pop*Pop - 0.0169*Pop - 0.0169
Forecasting for larger planets, here is my guess:

59%
1023%
1542%
2064%
2591%
30121%
35155%
40194%
45236%
50283%

Those are the amount of additional morale needed to counter the population penalty.

Please note building bonus is not a flat bonus, but a precentage modifier of base approaval, which is 100% minus population morale penalty.

So for 20mil colony, building barely give 1/3 of original value.

Actually, I have a nice PQ 30 system and I have found that maximum morale loss is -80% from population. I decided to test this and kept building farms (at Advanced Farming) once I reached population cap. So far, I have maxed out at 30B people on that one planet and -80% from population.

Update: I just removed a cultural center and built a new advanced farming module and we'll see what happens I get to 40B people. But so far, from 30 to 34B people, I have not had a decrease in the morale. Constant at -80% from population.

Now, good luck with negating both -80% and tax penalty with morele buildings with just 1/5 of their strenght.

Not as much as you for thinking that. Bumps are required here. Why did you comment at all then? Hypocrite. Oh, and learn to spell "you're" before commenting on whether or not someone is a loser.

Anyway, to the OP. The pop. Morale only takes -80% down, which is 26 bil. I've got a planet with 73 billion people, and the stats for 100% at about 59% tax are +479% morale.

400% is pretty much entirely for low tax rates. But that planet is a goldmine

I'd forgotten about the tax penalty.

So the 400% is enough to kill off the population penalty, but you need to also be able to offset the tax penalty.

Hmmm... It seems like if you have a high-class world that could break the -80% barrier, you should build your tax structure around it.

I think every one is missing the point here. According to this amazing bit of factfinding, We can now tell that Alfonse is a time traveller. I know, i know, its only 5 seconds, but with a bit of refinement...We might well have to throw out the theory of relativity. Thanks Heroine4life! You're the best.

Don't forget that moral buildings don't give flat bonus to moral as it's popular oppinion.

They mutiply base happines which is calculated by substracting pop penalty from 100%.
So when you get to -80% pop penalty, all morale buildings are 1/5 effective.
So +60% virtual reality center would add 20*0.6= 12% bonus in moral.

Now tell me is it easy to offset or not?
