I did look at the SEV site and at first glance it looks like a clone of GalCiv2, but it seems alot heavier with the UI and it has a little more of a Civilization series touch to it with some of the screenshots.

Yeah I'd play a great game with horrible graphics alot longer than I'd play a horrible game with great graphics.

smjjames, if it goes like SEIV ther will probably be ways to edit things in the executable. Other than that the tech trees and all graphics concerning races ships and components will be customizable so you can maintain a racial theme. We'll just have to see when it comes out.

I've played Medieval Total War a few times, but I got bored with it. I used to like playing Total Anhilation too until I got the Core expansion.

my parents dragged me (and my siblings) around with them, (dad's a doctor). it was a lot of fun really, though it has both it's advantages and disadvantages, but the advantages are much more prominent!

Unfortunately good spelling is one thing that isn't an advantage, I continually get confused between US and UK spelling, so often end up using neither!

DeadDodo I know what you mean I learned German while in Germany and alot of times I have to think about letter arrangements because they are completely opposite for the 2 languages. Also you tend to forget alot words that are commonly used when living around another language and culture.
