The Pryde

The world now named Prydelan contained a single super-continent, with a few smaller isolated continents spread throughout the remainder of oceans. Fertile land with an enormous wealth of minerals covered by lush tropical and subtropical jungles and forests abound, predators and prey flourished. There was no need for sapience and very little changed through the generation as this was a productive and fruitful time.
All of this changed though when a smaller sub-continent slammed into the super-continents southeast most land mass. As mountain ranges rose over the centuries a general drying occurred throughout the western regions causing a gradual change in living conditions and the beginning of “survival of the fittest” began with the species known today as “Kat” becoming the dominant group.
However, east of the new mountain ranges the surviving members of the “Kat” species enjoyed the extremely pleasant living provided by the now divided super-continent with exceptional living conditions and separation from many forms of predators. These “Kats” gradually began to develop a culture so to speak and finally sapience arrived and spread slowly throughout both Kat lands.
Due to the slow spread of sapience, the western Kat lands evolved into a more rigid and survival oriented culture than their brethren on the eastern shores. As the use of tools increased over the millennia on both sides of the mountains, the western “Kats” learned how to use basic tools for hunting and killing prey, as well as each other. The eastern “Kats” learned how to use basic tools for artistry and depiction of clan history through drawings and for use of manufacturing of props for storytelling.
Exploration of their world came at approximately the same time two both clans of “Kats”. The more cultured eastern “Kats” wanted to map and attain a better understanding of other species in their world and were of course tentative in their exploration. Their move violent and subsequently larger cousins had other ideas though, such as territorial expansion and control of other species to bend them and dominate them through their fears and weaknesses.
Needless to say, upon their meeting both cultures of “Kats” immediately knew that they both must have had common ancestors, however this had no factor into the almost immediate blood bath that the western cousins visited unto their brothers from the east. Thus began the hundreds generations of Kat-War. Eventually after fighting to a standstill a great feline diplomat named Shee-Rah arose from a small percentage of the races “hybrid” population. Shee-Rah convinced her mate and village through historical data and biological evidence that the two master “Kat” races were once one and the belief spread and hostilities soon ceased. Dominance though between the clans of Kats was soon established though by the strongest and more intelligent of the species and through advanced bloodline breeding appeared a genetically superior breed that was superior to both lineages, both in strength and intelligence, thus the first Kat Lords appeared.
The Kat Lords were responsible for organizing their kin into a working in an almost socialistic order with entire families in a caste type living. Warriors were bred for hunting and providing as well as protection of the species. Technologists were bred for their intellect and wisdom. A belief of self worth also began to spread and the worship of the female feline as the mother and savior of the species generally became a cornerstone of the new states religion and purpose. Centuries past and cities grew, population grew, sea travel became a reality and the races general phobia of the water was gone and they gained a safer and more expeditious way to get around the treacherous mountain terrain. As technology grew and generations past, rocket travel became a reality and what was a few days travel between the major cites by sea and land became virtually instantaneous taking minutes by comparison between all major cities. Communications technology developed and technologies became reality that allowed information and knowledge to become available to all, biased of course by the Kat Lords to the individual castes in each area of the species.
During this fruitful time, great tales of foreign beings began showing up on the Prydelan, stories began to circulate amongst the Pryde of lights in the sky that moved as no rockets could, shifting left instantaneously instead of the gentle curving arcs that their rockets would take. Tales began to grow of “Kats” being taken up to the stars and never returning. A fear of things foreign to the Pryde took hold and has never fully left their culture even today. Than nothing for generation of the Pryde, no unknown lights in the sky, belief again became that the Kats were the supreme species in their sphere of influence. With the disappearance of the lights, the stories died off and passed away into history as tales to scare young kittens to learn their history and practice at their trades harder.
This brings us to the present, the arrival of the others.

Typically their ships are deep rustic orange bordering on brown with black tint. Racial skills of note are as follows:
Military Production (After all, we are a caste based race)
Social Production (Were Kats after all, we are extremely social, as long as its done our way!)
Creativity (Ever see us not be able to get into every nook and cranny?)
Luck (You all thought it was just skill and a great sense of balance didn't you?)
Economics - 10% (We like pretty things, shiny things, we tend to trade them alot with other Kats)
Soldier - 10% (Whens the last time it didn't hurt when a Kat claw got ya?)
Espionage - (Its all about the purr, folks are naturally comfortable around us and a small flick of our tail ensures them of our complete harmlessness, so they run their traps all the time!)
