I've been experimenting with using gamespace to create some extra ship parts.
I'm getting a little lost on the details and would like a detailed explanation on how to do a few things. I haven't been using gamespace too much, so maybe I'm just missing the obvious.
The textures in gamespace and galciv II don't match up quite the same. There seems to be some sort of shifting around of textures on the model. Is there some sort of restriction or preference that the game has about textures?
How do you make a texture that uses the proper ship colour highlighting? So far my textures just go on as their own colour. I've also noticed that the game directory uses both DDS and png format for the models. Not sure why this is needed - I've been working with DDS exported from gamespace only.
How do you create attachment points? This is the most confusing thing for me. I've seen a reference that says that you need to create a NULL object, but I have no clue how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated. I've got some need ideas for new ship parts, but need to figure out these things before I can really get rolling on the models.
