Masochistic harder now ?

It seems so ... i used to win on masochistic in betas ( atleast last 3 games ) but now with all the enchanced AI they seem to be harder, heh they got invention matrix in about 20 turns

while i own the AI on crippling ( 1 level down) i cant win on maso

someone knows exactly what bonuses AI gets now ?

So far with the new AI, and the econ bonus, iv'e seen more focus on research/econ and they just BUY their military.

Try it using a cheat and give the AI like 1 million BC and just WATCH their military shoot up. And if you look at their planets they havent bought/built any new factories.

So I guess more money = more bought ships and if you add in the greater economy and more tech focus i can see that I guess. *Shrug*

I am currently playing on masochist level and, yes, it does seem a lot harder than in any of the betas. I have a huge military, been churning out killer ships like crazy for ages yet I still cant get any standing in the military graphs.
Two things I find kinda annoying is how abundant became less well abundant in the setup and how all the starbase bonuses where shrunk.

Phew! I finally won the game by tech victory and it did certainly seem a whole lot harder that with the betas. One odd thing was the drengin showed as having a minus 500cr per turn cash flow. No wonder they can buy all those ships.
