So, for instance, that 4million score that someone got by playing the system will end up being 13,300 instead (though we're going to delete the score entirely since it was a clear case of abuse). |

Which is it? Playing the system, or abusing it?
It can't be both.
I would also like to point some interesting details about this problem:
Firstly, I emailed stardock with details of the scoring system problem,
and got no response.
Secondly, I made posts, and replied in other posts, about this scoring problem.
No developers responded.
Thirdly, I demonstrated the problem on a smaller galaxy, taking first place and doubling the score of the previous first place.
No one cared or noticed.
Finally, in my determination to get someone to notice a glaring problem in the scoring system, I posted a score of over 4.68 million.
OH, SUDDENLY everyone cares and listens and notices! Oh the abuse! Oh, the exploiter! This must stop! Delete his score! Take away his medals! Make him PAY for exposing this scoring issue!
I posted about the score before and after I submitted it, even made it very clear that I would
delete the score myself with no prompting, once the problem had been fixed. But no one seemed to care about that. No one even noticed I deleted my 1st place small galaxy score gained by the same methods when nothing came of it.
What did I get for my efforts? What reward did I receive for helping the dev team uncover a gigantic problem with the scoring system?
Lets see, so far I have been called names, had my score and medals deleted, and generally been treated like a punk.
Of course the people who ignored my first 3 methods of exposing this problem did absolutely nothing wrong. It is I who am to blame for abusing the system.... I guess trying to get someone to notice a huge problem in the scoring system is abuse, my bad.
I had a very, very high opinion of the developers because of the amount of effort they were putting into fixing problems reported by users. In fact that was the reason I spent
weeks trying to get them to notice the problem, and went to the great lengths it took to post that absurd score. My opinion of course has jaded now that I am being punished for giving that feedback they wanted so badly.
Are you enjoying the new scoring system?
Every time you submit a score to the meta-verse that my 4 year old can't beat to an unrecognizable bloody pulp by merely hitting end turn repeatedly, thank me, the guy who "abused' and "exploited"... and try to remember that posting that score was the
last resort, not the first.
For most of you, I could really care less what you think, but for Frogboy to accuse me of abuse stings, because I was trying to help him and his co-developers with a serious issue, and I made it clear why the score was posted... even warned a few days in advance that the score would be posted and why it would be posted; because all my other efforts to get them to notice this issue had been completely and utterly ignored. On top of that I volunteered to delete my own score once the problem was addressed, and had already deleted an earlier scoring attempt to draw attention to the problem. All that talk about how much they want feedback, and I am an abuser for making every effort to get them to notice my important feedback.
I absolutely hate abusers/exploiters. They ruin the game for everyone. But the very definition of an exploit includes that you are doing it for personal gain or to hurt someone else. I am not an abuser just because my first, second, and third attempt to get this problem noticed were completely ignored. I am not an abuser simply because I found a way to finally get your attention focused on a real problem instead of how pretty the ship design interface is.
In fact, I think whistleblower is a much more accurate term for what I did. Because of me a serious problem with the metaverse has had attention called to it, and the problem has been resolved.
A simple thank you would have sufficed. Calling me an abuser... uncalled for.
