unable to update :(

I keep getting mid game crashes, so thought an update would help. but stardock won't let me update cause i only got a GC2 key, when i try the link on thsi site to get my normal key it just says
"* The serial number you have entered is a valid number and does not need corrected.
Please continue to our registration page to update your registration information."

but when i go to the registration page it registers my LE collectors edition but i still can't download any updates, only the extra content :

anyone know how i can solve this, or how i can obtain my key for updates?

I had that - I ended up using Stardock Central to get the updates instead...

On this page were you using you collectors edition key (the one on the paper insert) or your CD Key (the one on the back of the case)

The cd key wont work on the collectors edition page, and i am doubtful that the collectors edition will work on the normal download area.

I tried using Stardock central for updates aswell but says my key is invalid (GC2- key)

Zak i used the only one I have (collectors edition) it's on the back of the manual.

If it's on the back of the manual then you must have bought it in Europe. If you bought the game in Italy, you'll need to pay Paradox a visit as those serials were missing several characters on their print run. If you bought it elsewhere, you should visit this page to get the correct number, as they used the wrong serials on the initial production run:

you wouldn't happen to know where i can reach paradox support? tried mailing them but said the mail adress doesn't exist

What is this paper insert everybody is talking about? Is it the box card from paradox? Or the tech chart? I can only find the serial code on one of the cd's
