I have been playing the game and do fairly well once I get established and rolling. I have a custom race of squirrels with very high deplomacy and influence (after all who could turn down a cute little squirrel) and I even used the Pacifist gov't to put influence through the roof.
The problem I am having is that early in every game 1 or more races declares war on me. This last game even races that I had traded techs with and had a friendly relationship declared war on me and had started demanding money and tech for nothing from me.
Is this because my influence is so high that its pissing off other races so that they attack me before I am able to defend myself adequately? If I changed the influence boost to economics would that reduce the chance of other races declaring war on me early in the game?
