Activation Error after downloading updates

Hi,

I was running the game, created an account on stardock, downloaded updates successfully and now get promted to enter an activation code when trying to start the game. I enter the activation code and get an error, "Error Activating the Product". I have tried this when my ZoneAlarm FW is turned both off and on.

I have the latest video drivers etc.

I was previously able to run the game.
I think you have to have a registered version to access the updates via stardock.

I hope I am missing something simple!

I am entering the correct code,

Make sure you typed in you Serial number correctly. If you got the special edition (collectore, limited, etc.) make sure you enter the Serial number, not the collector's edition number. If you're European, go here: https://www.galciv2.com/paradox/

I got it too after i updated from a clean reinstall... I think the update is bugged.

I have had a look at the European Link. The link refers to special editions, my game is not any of the special editions.

When I enter my code on the site (as linked above) I get an invalid code error message.

I live in the UK.

I'll give this a go too since I've had no reply from support about an identical problem. I'm living in the UK and have entered the serial number from the CD -- it doesn't appear on/in the manual or on the packaging -- and get a similar problem: Invalid Serial No. I haven't even managed to get the updates as yet
