Wanna War?

Big problem. I have my ships exploring automatically. They hit a star-base that isn't mine. A message states if you attack this starbase, you will go to war.

I'm in turmoil so, of course, I say...No..I don't want to attack and it won't let me. Basically, the only thing I can do is go to war. This has happened twice to me so far and I want to play the diplomat . Have others seen this? Basically, when you hit the no button, the window flickers off then back on again. I tried hitting the no button about 15 times (to make sure it wasn't something weird with the movement of the ship) but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Well, the ship isn't recognising that there's something in the way. Make sure only non-military ships go on auto-explore. But it should do a check that nothing is in the way before it tries to explore there.

I had this happen once, you just keep clicking on no don't start a war and it eventually agrees to stop. Take the ship off auto explore, steer it around the space station and then turn it loose again. Course when that happened to me it naturally picked the most powerful Civ in the game to try and pick a fight with. Just to keep me on my toes I suppose.
