Back in GalCiv 1 I had to go through a lot of trouble to understand what the different bonuses were in fact doing. +1% sensor range wasn't a 1% increase in range as most of you probably know by now. This knowledge had to be learned by trial & error.
I've recently bought GalCiv 2 and noticed that for some reason this item hasn't been fixed yet. Different bonuses are very counter-intuitive and some are downright controversial or non-functioning. Why does a 50% economic bonus actually give a 25% increase? What does a 1% soldiering bonus mean? What does .4 range mean? Do I need those extra supplies or not to be able to colonize a neighboring planet? Why doesn't a population growth bonus affect population growth?
I think you know what I mean. I think hard-core gamers are pretty much into the game by now. Why not make the game a bit easier for new-comers...
