Influence Ally Planets

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new at this, so i tried searching the forums but wasn't able to find anything. I'm curious if its possible to setup a bunch of influence starbases by an allies planet and then flip that plent without affecting the ally status?

This depends on your difficulty. It will always work, but if you do it on intelligent, they see what you're up to, and prepare to stop you if they dislike you, or live with it if they like you. Either way it's a negative in the relationship. On lower difficulty levels, they merely insult you and remind you how badly they would kick your ass if it was set to intelligent.

But yes, if you produce (in that area) four times the influence of the native planet, and their morale is below either 60 or 40 (I forget which), the game will generate a random choice to flip the planet or not. You normally only need one or two if you have a nearby planet with lots of people.

I allied with the altarians once, then fliped thier homeworld, they just kept on smiling...

Actually I think the morale just modifies the roll somewhat, so that lower morale equates to higher chance. However, I've flipped planets where the AI built all morale buildings to keep 100% morale, it just takes some more turns. The only down side is that I have to build all the correct buildings afterwards. The only way that a planet will not flip under influence is if they have a reeducation center. 100% Morale, Yor with insane Loyalty, all these do is delay the inevitable...

Well, I think the moral doesn't matter in any way. It's just like when you produce four times the influence, then the chance is always 25 % that the planet will flip to your side. So, in theory you should get the planet after four turns (but of course that won't always happen).
