/n and [CIVNAME] showing up

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but when I was looking at Earth (I was terran) and I had met all nine races I looked at the description and it had the /n code for a new line. I also noticed that in the "On the Street" section the person said something that included [CIVNAME] or something like that. Anyone else seen this?
Oh, and is the 1.1 patch no longer a beta?
