The Yor's military might is going off the chart, only a brave alliance of all the remaining races can stop them at this point. Little do the Yor realise that the Terran's, always the alliance builders, have gone to work making just such an alliance.
'No they're way to powerful' The Altarin's said
'They're just to powerful now' the Drath put forward.
'I think I left the oven on' The Torian's added.
This situation is of course ridulous. Not because it doesn't (or shouldn't) happen but because it does and what it leads to is even more ridiculous, that being that the Terran's go to the Yor and give them a little money to declare war on the Altarin's, the Acracean's and the Torian's. I guess it could be called 'shrewd' but you'd think underhandedness of that level would be detected and even if its not, some players might like to go the high road and you know, not screw over their allies.
What I'm proposing here is essentially thus: Group meetings. Get the Altarin, the Drath and the Torians all in one diplomacy screen where you can say:
'If you ALL attack the Yor, I will join you in this attack and give you ALL 30,000 BC to break up amongst you and gift the Singularity driver to any of you that don't have it.'
Okay ignoring the trade details for a second, the essential workings of what I'm proposing here is that, in this group meeting, the AI uses the collective military rating of the proposed allies, rather than simply the 'mine vs there's' rating. I'll even accept a penalty of 'self interest' to the overall group might.
Such group meetings of course have great potential above and beyond simple warfare.
Thoughts anyone?
