Nano ripper?

Hi

I was playing a game yesterday and focusing on mass drivers as my weapon of choice. A while into the game I suddenly could make ships with a gun called Nano ripper (or something like that) I think it has an attack value of 8 which is far superior to where I was in the tech three (about 3 in attack value). The weapon is very expensive but also extremely effective. I cannot see which tech gave me this. Can anyone tell me?

Just a question... is the nano riper bugged?

Then techs after singularity driver IV allow access to much much weaker weapons.

No but it's overpowered. The evil weapons are too.

Nano ripper is powerful but the trade-off is it's more expensive and bigger, and you will keep paying for it with increased maintenance. I like that they included it as a choice, makes the game more fun.

yes the nanoripper has a lot of power but it is very expensive, and the evil weapons are not overpowered, they are evil. most evil people have powerful weapons, and in comparison the good defences dont give as much defence, but they also are smaller which means you can have more of them. its all balanced out, and people have been trying to bring this up over and over again. perhaps it is the way it is, because thats how stardock designed it.

The Drengin are using the Nano Ripper to create very nasty ships. I think I agree with others who feel that the Nano-Ripper is overpowered. I also think Good Races need to get a new power. I was thinking a 50% bonus to their ship defenses.


So the nano ripper might be rebalanced in v1.1.

But the nano ripper is not connected to any moral alignment is it?

As has been said by Brad, nanoripper will probably be nerfed. And the evil weapons will hopefully be nerfed next.

Psyonic beam is massively overpowered. It does 12 damage and is available at the same time as Phasor which does 3 damage.
The only reason that no-one says that the Psyonic shredder is overpowered, even though it does 10 damage while the massdriver norm is 3 damage is because it comes after the nanoripper which does damage 8.
Psyonic missile is probably the only evil weapon that doesn't need to be depowered. It does 6 damage while the standard missile is doing 3.

Obviously a good or neutral player that for example specialises in beam tech won't have any chance against an evil player that does the same.
