Missing ships

Hello and thank you in advance to any who may respond to my question. I'm wondering if I may have a glitch here or if I'm just doing something wrong. I'm totally new to the game and I'm just playing around and exploring the game and trying things...getting used to things I guess. At the very beginning of the game I successfully colonized a nearby planet but then my colony ship disappeared. Once the procedure of colonizing the planet was complete my colony was gone from the map. Any ideas on this guys? Again, I may be doing something wrong but I'm darned if I can find the ship anywhere! Thank you for any info anyone can provide.

the colony ship is expended to make a colony on the planet.

"Once the procedure of colonizing the planet was complete my colony was gone from the map. Any ideas on this guys?"
that i'm not so sure what you mean or what happened.

As far as I can tell, youre not doing anything wrong at all. Its just that the colony ship is used up whenever you colonize a planet. This is a part of the game, you have to build a new colony ship for each planet you want to colonize.

Same thing with constructors, you have to send a new one to a starbase each time you want to upgrade it. Hope this helps.

Gotcha! I understand now. I didn't know the colony ships worked that way. Thank you so much for the reply
