Hi guys, new to this game and so far i think its great fun. Very addictive. I was wondering though about the trade resources you get by researching certain techs. I figure the first person to research the tech is the only person to get it.

I just wondered if the bonus they give is global or only for the planet they were made on. Eg if you get teh bonus which is to add to all armour of ships, the special metal bonus. Does this add to all ships from now on, ships built on the planet where the upgrade is finally built or globally to all ships created already aswell as new ones??
