Frankly, spelling/grammer errors are the very LOWEST on my list of things I want them to do. Stat/description errors are just one of the things that I think are more important. For instance, a building that says it improves influence in one description but really improves diplomacy (Galactic Showcase) as per the other description and list of bonuses from that building.
But this is a minor issue. It doesn't effect gameplay, and its clear what the building actually does.

I love the game, its great. I especially love the ship design options. I suggest giving the final retail version a try. Most reviewers also like the game. The few that gave it lower reviews did so because of some bugs that are mostly fixed now (just a few weeks after game release).

Anyway, I'm pretty sure they did a lot of correcting for the final release as opposed to some screenshots from a preview.

If this kinda thing bothers you that much, I'm sure if you sent a list to stardock detailing any typos or grammer mistakes you found in the latest version of the game, they would fix it. They are very good at fixing things.

I could be wrong but I assumed that last sentence was meant as a joke...at least I hope it was...

You didn't mention "Here's the excerpts..." should be "Here are the excerpts..."

But the point is valid--sloppy writing is unprofessional, not to mention a strong indicator of sloppiness elsewhere. This is, in fact, demonstrated by descriptive errors as mentioned by Jurfop. Unfortunately, there are far too many non-cosmetic bugs in the game that should take higher priority. Yes, many have been fixed, which is a good sign, but I am disappointed that the game has as many bugs as it does. It is a testament to the greatness of the game that it is still worth playing and gets such good reviews, because normally I would have shelved it already.

Although, it's not for sale and I wrote it really in a haste Also I've to add that English isn't my native language. Anyway, the errors I've found are clearly visible at a glimpse even for me.

What's of a great matter is the fact that they [still?] exist... Yes, let's compile a list of typos and errors and mail them to the team!

I would contribute if someone started a "Text errors to submit to Stardock for fixing" thread. However, isn't this the QA department's job? I presume Stardock has a QA department...and I presume their manager is getting a poor review this cycle.

Yes there are a few typos and some mismatched grammar in the absolutely MASSIVE amount of text in this game. You know what? I'm an English teacher and it doesn't bother me a bit. These errors will be hunted down and destroyed. It's just what happens when you write 200000 words.

Most books have at least a couple of spelling errors.... hell, most English teaching books and student resource packs have errors. Considering books in general are only selling words (and teaching books are supposed to be practically gospel) how does this reflect on ezolak's judgement of unprofessional sloppiness? Or Rhigos' "reek of cheapo production"....... I'd say it was a rather minor point that will be fixed in due course.

Of course, as Devilman has indicated he will do, actively supporting the game by presenting these errors to the company is the only constructive way of dealing with it. Given the fact that Stardock may have had a couple of people to read through the text but there are 20000 customers (?) - it's not surprising that we spot more errors than they did!

Although you could argue that a run-of-the-mill word processor's spell check feature would have caught most of the obvious spelling errors.

I'll agree with the opinion that such problems don't have as high priority as bugs and odd game behaviour, but I also support the notion that those kinds of things reflect poorly on a finished product.

You know - when it comes to books... you are literally only buying those words.... so if there are lots of errors (FULL OF BUGS! ) I think there is a right to decry the quality of the product. So I agree with you basically.... those books are bad -especially the teaching ones and show a real lack of quality.

This, however, is a game that just happens to have a vast amount of text in it. The words are far from the main element of the product, yes they are a part of it, yes it looks great when it's all spelled correctly... but no, a few typos here and there do not in any way reflect on the overall quality of the product.

That's like going into a restaurant and reading a typo on the menu and immediately assuming that the food must be awful here...... but surely! If the food was good quality, they'd get the menu right!!!
