Is there any chance we can get an option to have "balanced" start locations? I'm not asking for you to make sure we have equivalent quality planets around us, just to make an option we can check that will make all the races roughly evenly spaced through the galaxy.
Initial starting location and whether you're competing with another race for planets immediately or have ample room to expand seems to make a big difference in the success of any given race. While that might be realistic, it can be a bit frustrating and less fun.
It could be done "well enough" by subdividing the universe into a number of approximately equal-sized regions equal to the number of races and putting a race in the center of each region.
