Minor race Influence starbase spam

make it stop!!!

I am sure many of you know that some minor races spam the map with influence starbases, and the only way to get rid of them is by blowing them up. Frankly its annoying as heck to try and build starbases in your systems when they are surrounded by minor race bases

LOL. I agree. I thoughI read some where that this war going to change. Might not have made the latest patch.

Thinking about it a bit. If only a certian number of SB were allowed per sector then that would be a great way to encourage war in the game instead of biding time until you get another victory type.

Hmm, never seen this. At the most I see minor races take of of resources which can get a bit annoying, but I have never seen a minor race spam 'flu' bases. Though the Thalan once took a planet near my home system and "flu" spammed around it... I made them pay for it, I also got that planet.

It seems like they can't "own" territory or have their color over yours on the influence display.. what is more vital is them trying to ensure they don't "Flip". If I don't invade an minor outright and they are in the game for a whiles, they usually have a couple bases.

Minor militaries are usually completely unimpressive and they generally aren't allied with anyone.

What I would do if it's enough of a problem is just declare war, saunter over, blow up their bases, and then get a peace.

Vouila, no more Influence Bases. It also does wonders for getting the Minors to... ahem... surrender Resources that they are holding.

Or better yet, just conquer them. That's what minor races, after all, are there for. ; )

I like to dump no-engine scouts into space (no maintenance) and have them surround budding starbases. As far as I can tell, it's effective at keeping the AI from developing it short of starting a war with me just to get their constructors by. That, or I'm not paying close enough attention.

I have had this happen to me too. Minor race built two influence bases right next to Earth! Their homeworld was in the farthest corner possible. Then, they start complaining that I an infringing on THEIR culture!! They eventually declared war on me for this! Rediculous.

Also, why don't starbases owned by minors show up as tradable in the diplomacy screan? Why can't they ally?

Different but related issue:

I have had allies spam influence starbases around my planets. Why? Once allied aren't we out to win together? I had to conquer my former Thalan allies last game due to this problem.
