I know I've seen it posted elsewhere at least once, but I still felt the review should have its own thread.
I feel that perhaps the article's author was a bit harsh with his comments about the graphics, interface, and AI. Aside from that, however, I think he did a pretty good job of reviewing the game. It's obvious he's been playing GalCiv 2 quite a bit since he first got it.
My personal favorite line from the author's review is when he's talking about getting schooled by the AI, even on lower difficulties: "It's like being taught basketball by Michael Jordan. Even if he plays his "D" game, he's still gonna kick your butt.". I personally don't think the AI is quite *that* brutal, but that sentence still cracked me up.
Final score: Gamespy gives GalCiv II 4.5 out of 5 stars, along with their Editor's Choice award. Congratulations to all the good folks at Stardock!!
