Again, sorry if this has been discussed, but I can't find any other threads on this, so please post links if I am spamming. Thank you. So I had one game where this one minor race completely conquered the Torians, ending up with 7 or so worlds, and one of the biggest fleets on the map! This was thanks largely to the frigate hull tech i conveniently supplied them with
Anyway, does it ever happen, some kind of flag or something, that a minor race becomes a major race, with influence and everything?
Actually, i think it would be nice if minors were just like majors, only with .20 the influence perhaps, and q10ish planets, and building *some* colony ships at least, and not as passive as they are in the present game. I think it would also make sense that they would be able to flip to your empire after a certain amount of influence is exerted, representing them 'joining' your confederation or whatever.
And is it just me, or does their research go way too quickly? I usually end up leaving the minors around just so i can trade tech with, as they are more advanced than I am!
Another thing that bugs me about them is the name of their star system is the name of their race? What? Wouldn't it be better to just drop them into a randomly named system, rather than making a separate one named "dark yor?" I don't know about the rest of you, but 'dark yor' is not my idea of a cool star system name
