My question is, where did ya get the inspiration to do the shielded earth for its own protection idea? In Star Control 2, earth was shielded/imprisoned for its own protection.

There any plans of a single player game based on the current Galciv universe, similar to what the creators of space empire 4 did?

I would buy a game where I was incharge of a ship/fleet where I had to travel to various stars to negotiate with allies and to try to rebuild my empire while at the same time, fending off my enemies (those i make along the way and the Dregin) while solving the mysteries of the Arnor.
