I've been playing the game for marathon sessions and I'm impressed.
I've got a few suggestions I'd like to see though:
In the "probably a bug" category.
The Ship designer.
When you select components on the ship itself and then delete them they reappear if you select a component in the ship part lineup bar... this happens in reverse. This is annoying as it is difficult to track down parts on the larger designs and modify them as you have to delete a part, add a part and then delete another part... you can't just delete everything and then add the new stuff. At least, not easily.
Also, would it be possible to auto sort game effecting components to the left of the parts list bar? This would make it MUCH easier to upgrade the ships components as you wouldn't have to track through all the ship parts, select one then have it deselected when you click on something else making you groan in frustration as you retrack the part.
Speaking of upgrades: I'd find it a lot more believable game world wise if you had to bring a ship back into a planet before it could be upgraded. You'd then have to rotate ships out, etc... basically it would give a better feeling of fleet managment.
Next.
Would it be possible to allow the player to rename individual ships? With the ability to upgrade ships indefinatly you'll have some ships for a very long time, it would be nice to see the "Screaming Smurf" back at the front after an upgrade rather than "Heavy Fighter 1122".
Back to the ship designer:
Would it be possible to add generic small blocks with a few attachment points as hulls? I find myself having to work around the hull designs already in the game and it makes it hard to get the design I want. Small generic blocks would be appreciated.
Finally:
Could we get the option to designate a part of a ship as the camera center? Working with ships gets difficult if the parts you added extend too far out of center. If we could designate a new center point working with designs would be much easier.
Those are my suggestions after a few days of play. This is an awesome game guys, thanks!
