I'm playing a very slow research, gigantic map against five intelligent opponents. I'm almost 200 turns into the game and fighting a war against the Drengin, Yor, and Arceans. I haven't lost a single planet the whole game. I HAVE taken almost a dozen of the Arcean's planets over a small amount of turns. Yet, every time I go to the diplomatic screen, they're like, "You are clearly on the losing end of this war. Defeat is inevitable." I know the Arceans are RPed as an ancient and wise race; therefore, I don't think they'd stoop to a "No, you're losing. No, you're losing. No, you're losing" battle of words.
My point is, after losing ten planets, why would the AI still think it's winning?
I can count on both hands how many ships I've lost in combat. I've been mopping them up left and right with advanced beam technology and advanced logistics. It's a 10:1 or 20:1 ship-battle win ratio in my favor. Therefore that can't be it. I know their military is technically bigger and better funded, but it's less advanced also and being creamed at every turn. Any explanations?
PS - I freaking love this game.
