How to contact Brad

Hey there guys, I was wondering if anyone can tell me how I can contact Brad (Avatar Frogboy).

It's not because I'm a stalker, I wanted his advice on my Extended Essay for my IB Diploma.

I really just had some questions, as I've pretty much decided I want to do my essay on computer sciences, but I'm not sure if I'm experienced enough. I wanted his help on topics, and seeing as how Stardock is my favorite gaming company, and considering Brad's amazing interactivity on the forums, he was my first choice as someone to talk to.

I'll probably end up getting his email straight from him, who knows?

I'm pretty sure he knows your lookin for him now, as does his Intergalactic Elite Bodyguard Association.
You'll be seeing strange shadows out of the corner of your eyes for a while, mister or whatever you happen to be....

ok, I'm not Brad (surpise), but I am a programmer. As far a picking a topic... Decide where your interests lie (Hardware/software/OS/Theoretical/etc). I have found it a little bit easier to write about hardware. I did a tech overview of ATI's Xxxx series cards about a year ago that was 2500 words. Some thing like that could easily be expanded into a much longer, more indepth article. If you list some specific topics that you are interested in I (or others) may be able to give you ways to expand them or resources that you can go to to find out more information.

Hey TwoleggedDeer, I've finished my IB Diploma a long time ago; going to graduate with a CS degree in a few months .

Here's my advice on this:

Speak with your IB coordinator and get his opinion.

I wanted to do a CS Extended Essay, but we had no IB CS course, so my coordinator advised me to do it elsewhere. If your school has an IB CS course, ask the teacher. You'll be able to get much more from him than from Brad (who is cool, but doesn't know what makes a good IB essay most likely).

The problem with having someone like Brad as your essay supervisor, is that he's:

1. In Michigan, which is probably not where you are; contact via e-mail is a pain for things like this
2. Not exactly sure what's required of IB essays in all probability
3. Is a busy, busy man nowdays (why, I bet he's packing boxes this very moment

By the way, back in the prehistoric era when I was writing my essay, I ended up doing a math one in fractals. I think that I was one of two people to do a math essay in the history of my school; sad.

Ooh! IB, what fun. One thing about the IB, though, is that grades and work are not necessarily related. And the extended essay is, in my opinion, the greatest timesink with the smallest returns. You can utterly fail it and still get the diploma with a ToK essay written the morning it is to be mailed off. With that said, I hope you get the two or three bonus points you deserve if you make a dedicated effort.

Great advice all, thanks. I really wasnt going to ask him to be my supervisor, just ask him about up to date stuff or topics, what would be interesting.

All this advice is great.

I dont think my school has an IB CS course, but ill talk around and see.

I'm interested in hardware and software. Id also be intrested in code/etc. but i have essentially no knowledge in those fields. My knowledge in the other two aint bad, but it could use improvement.

Bump.

Any more help would be appreciated. Im talking with my TOK advisor (He is pretty smart if I say so myself) about what I should do if my school doesnt offer a CS IB course, which im pretty sure it doesnt. The normal tech-ed teacher knows nothing about IB, so i could be outta luck.
