Perhaps this may be usefull (your Connection error 1001 is down a ways):
I keep trying to register my application under Stardock Central but it keeps telling me my registration failed.
There are two likely causes for this:
1) You are entering your registration under the wrong product name. For example, if you are registering Galactic Civlizations you first need to use the Drengin.net tab in the registration dialog. Then in the drop down list you need to select Galactic Civilizations as Drengin.net is the default product listest. Then enter your Email and Serial Number and click the Update button.
2) The second most likely cause is that you have either entered your serial number incorrectly or you are using the wrong email address. Please use the Serial Lookup option in Stardock Central by entering your email address. All registrations associated with that email address will be emailed to you. If the app you are trying to register is not listed then you should contact
[email protected] to find the correct email address that your registration is associated with.
There is a \program files\stardock\sdcentral\login.txt file available with debugging information. You can send this file to
[email protected] to help troubleshoot any difficulties. Please do not post it on message boards or newsgroups, as it contains your serial numbers.

Connection Error 1001
A Connection Error 1001 when first starting Stardock Central means something is blocking it from even being able to access the Internet. Please set your firewall software to trust SDCENTRAL.EXE, allow it to use cookies (for the Discussion features in SDC), and tell it to trust *.stardock.com (for trusted domains, if necessary).
If problems persist in connecting, please email \program files\stardock\sdcentral\login.txt to
[email protected].
