Seige Mission from Campaign

Okay, for those that haven't made it there... this mission hurts. This is the first "Dread Lords" appearance. There is a reason that they are called Dread Lords BTW

I don't want to give any spoilers out yet, but I am playing on cakewalk, blitzed every mission so far, but I am getting wiped on this one.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Im doing the campaign on Normal difficulty... the first (3?) missions were quite easy... but handy to learn the game.

The Dread Lord encounters are pure sweetness. The thrill of trying to counter those badass mofos
Anyway, research medium hulls, logistics up to 12 or better 16, and fairly advanced weapons (like level 5 plasma)
Build heavy fighters with all offence(8 beam), no defence (doesnt matter against 40 dam attacks) and group them per 3 or 4 if you can.
Dont be afraid of the Dread Lords, don't even try to run. Attack them head on so you get first attack.
I won battles without losing a single ship against their "scouts" (13 hp) or even "fighters" (23 hp) this way.
Losing 1 shp per Dread Lord is very acceptable btw.. make sure you have good industrial capacity.
And protect your transports when you attack. 3 full transports combined in a single fleet should be enough iirc.

In future please put "SPOILER: Campaign Question" in the thread title...... rather than "Dreadlord Campaign Finale - How do I kill the uber lord"?

Well, that supposes that the Dreadlords haven't invaded your planets and that you are able to destroy them when they come. More, the reference to a level 5 plasma, suppose that you are pretty advanced in the game.

I am wondering at when the Dreadlords have started to atatck you and how many planets you got at this time.

BTW, it is a mission that can be failed.
