I'm a recovered GalCiv I addict, and it appears I'm about to fall off the wagon later this month. I have a question for beta players.
If I can get wiped out by poorly choosing my offensive/defensive design strategy for starships, what's the best way to find out what the other guy is up to?
In GalCiv I, it didn't really matter much. The race was to get to Dreadnaught before, or at least about the same time, as the other top players. It seems to matter much more what the choices are in GalCiv II.
I used to use the trade screen in GalCiv I to see what techs the other players had, but that seemed to be sort of cheating. After all, if a potential enemy came around to trade trinkets for teacups I wouldn't provide a list of tech that I had to boot. Is the same 'cheat' available in Galciv II? If not, do we have to spy or engage other races in a fight to find out what they have?
I can't wait till my box comes!
