Go to the ship design screen. Choose a hull size (I used tiny) ; place items in the ship until almost full (I placed 2 warp drives) ; add another item : the blue bar turns red.

At this point, if you click on an empty space (in the little squares above the bar showing the items making your new ship), the game will crash.

This seems easy to reproduce (the 3 times I did this, the game crashed)
