Anomolies - Recharging

Would it be possible for new anomolies to appear as the game progress. Some sort of random event that "spawns" a slew of anomolies for everyone one to explore?

I believe this does happen in GC1, although at a very slow rate. I agree that it would be nice to see in GC2 as well.

Aye, survey ships are kind of pointless after the colony rush phase of the game, eh?

In GC1 after I'd explored most of the galaxy with my survey ship I'd just park it at some strategic spot and use it as an expensive sensor drone.

If I have time I'd REALLY like to get different levels of anomaly into the game.  Where the first survey ship can only explore the first level of anomaly, but later survey modules allow you to survey the higher levels.

But this may be a pipe dream with our "feature-complete" deadline coming up fast

cant wait for the expansion, so many ideas, will be out a couple of months after realease (before world of warcraft expansion maybe?)

I was wondering about the whole issue. When it comes to techs, at the start of the game.. the survey ship is a pure gift.
It's going to be a while before you can make another. I hope it is given some basic wpn level and defenses. Seriously whats the point of uncovering an anomaly that says "blah blah you discovered something that will enhance your ship weapons 1 pt " and it does nothing ?
