Been playing the Star Trek mod for SEIV lately, and have been beating the tar out of it. At first I was playing with one homeworld, high cost everything. After about six to eight years, I was da man, and second runner up was waaay behind. Geometric progression had caught up, I had attained critical mass. Ok, so tried changing the player settings to ten homeworlds, max tech. In about two years (twenty one turns) I had ninety planets, and the second runner up had only twenty three. Game over, and I didn't even get to build a battle fleet, let alone duke it out. Interesting exploration, but just...almost fun. I'm currently tweaking the game start parameters to try and get a longer game, trying to make it more than just delaying an inevitable cascade.
How does this have anything to do with GalCiv? Well I got to wondering what the accumulated research graph looks like for my savegames, to give me a rough idea of the tech timeline, and a typical rate of expansion/growth. Unfortunately my old savegames don't work, and my new savegames are only a dozen years or so. Does anyone here have some long savegames they could link me? I'de like to post a composite table of growth.
