Okay here is the skinny. I started a game with me playing the Terran alliance along with the Drengin, Korx, Krynn, Altarians, Iconians and Yor. I built up a decent economy right out of the bat, with a few industry and research worlds. Currenlty I am about 1000 in the green unless I blow it all on espionage.
Situation is as follows. The Drengin declared war on me when I didnt have much of a military, because I wanted better engines in an immense galaxy. I think like half the galaxy joined mein the war against the Drengin, who had only a handfull of planets at this point, not having had a good expansion at the start. So I churned out a military and in the course of the war I got 4 worlds. They surrendered their last world to the Altarians.
After that I went back to develop my worlds and set up a stronger military geared torwards the Korx and Yor. Sooner than expected war broke out, with the Korx declaring war on the Altarians and me being dragged in, along with the Yor, who were allied to the korx and declared war on me and the Altarians. My military did decent against the Korx and crushed the Yor. However after getting a handfull of worlds, first the Yor surrender to the Korx and the Korx, which still had a lot of worlds, surrendered to the Krynn.
The Bad: The Krynn now have half the Galaxy and half the influence.
The Good: My own relations are good with everyone and at this point alliances abound between the 4 remaining factions, with 3 good and one neutral civilisation remaining, so war is unlikely. However that also means if I declare war on anyone I have to fight everybody, seen as Alliances will be triggered.
Can I still achieve an influence victory? I would have to subvert about a quarter of the Krynn worlds, along with a quarter of the worlds of the other races. Can the Krynn be subverted through influence? What does it take? I threw them in there because they looked snappy I realized only later they are religious fanatics. Difficulty level is Tough.
What penalities are there for breaking an alliance?
