Negative 21000ish advantage during invasion

I'm using the Ultimate Edition 2.02

In the Dread Lords campaign, during the mission Escape, the mission is to take over a planet.  When I invade, I notice that their tech bonus is negative 40ish and that my attack advantage is about -21000.  I'm pretty sure this makes it impossible to win.  I maxed all my techs related to soldiering and went in with 20,000 troops instead of the 1,000 that probably should have done the trick.  I still couldn't kill any of their 20 guys.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed this or if everyone with the ultimate edition just stops on the earlier buggy campaign mission that makes you defeat all your allies with influence starbases to continue.

I'm surprised the game was released in this condition - I've heard such good things about it.  Maybe most players don't care about the campaigns or something.

I knew I've seen this bug mentioned before and I found a post by CariElf in a list of "Either Fixed or Unreproducable Bugs" for Twilight.

I'd say to get the game right prior to invasion saved and zipped and email it to support@stardock.com, along with instructions as to the reproducable bug you've found.

I have virtually the exact same problem (just the number for the negative tech are different).

I had the original game and bought the 2 expansions.  I've been playing the DL campain from the TA program....

Just got to this mission and have the same problem. The campaign and the game in general are incredibly buggy and unstable.

I've already had a chat with support because the level Apocalypse was unwinnable. Couldn't even use the culture method cos one of my allies stuck the structure that prevents culture flips on one of his planets. Had to correct the victory condition, which was to kill a race which wasn't even in the mission, and replay it from the start.

GC2: Ultimate Edition with latest patches and Vista 64bit.

Ive been playing through this campain for the 1st time and also have the same problem

Anyone know if there is a solution for this yet???

And if not, how much of the campaign am I going to miss???

 

PS. I have the ultimate addition with the latest patch downloaded.

Also had problems with the kill dread lord mission....had to use culture flips on my team mates to win the mission,,,

Ended up emailing support and got their answers for the problem.

I did what they suggested and beat the mission

Hi,

We know about this bug and it has been fixed for the next update.

If you want to finish the mission without waiting for an update, the bug is related to the number of major races in that campaign scenario. If you are comfortable with editing scenarios, you can edit the Escape scenario by adding one more arbitrary major race, then restart the mission. I think this should work as a quick fix until the update is posted. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Demigod releases April 14th.  My guess is we'll see it shortly after that, as it has eaten up a large portion of SD's time (even though I was under the impression GPG was doing most of the grunt work, since IIRC it's their baby).
