What type of mods are you lookiing to make?

Depending on what you are trying to add to the ships you can easily add items from the editors included in the TA version. The editors are easy to use and allow you to make loads of different types of mods for your ships.

If you are looking to do something other than this please let us know a few more specifics to enable us to better assist you

The editors came with the TA expansion. You should be able to access them by using the launcher (double click the desktop icon) and select the "Editors" buton. You should get a list of editors from there. Mind you, they are not the best (the tech tree editor will attempt to modify the prerequisite tech for the first entry) so you will want to learn how to do things manually.

If you can't find the launcher, you can try looking here for the tools:

C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\GalCiv2\Twilight\Tools

Go into the game folder (it is under "C:/program files/stardock games/galciv2/(whatever expansions you have will be in subfolders named after the expansion)), locate the program app (NOT the quicklaunch window, the actual game) and make a shortcut using the rightclick menu. Then rightclick on the shortcut, select "properties", and add "cheat" (no quotes) to the end of the "target" field. Be sure to add a space before it!

Add the "cheat" command line parameter to a shortcut to the application and you need to add it *outside* the quotes that enclose the application path in the shortcut.

Example: "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat

Again, the editors are your friends. If that doesn't suit you, you could always just open up the GC2Types.xml and increase the capactiy field on the hulls while decreasing the size and sizemod fields on the ships.

And sorry to say this late... does it make a difference if I have the Ultimate edition?
